About the Role DP World Maputo is currently looking to recruit a IT Manager to be based at DP Maputo. This role will be responsible for formulate and set in place the Information, Communication and Technology transformational vision for DP World Maputo not limiting to the functional applications (TOS/TAS/Engineering/Finance/Commercial/HR/Coms), hardware/network and automation. Manage maintenance, development and enhancement of the   business/ functional applications, systems and networks.
Key Responsibilities

The individual assigned to this position will be responsible to set in place the Information, Communication and Technology transformational vision for DP World Maputo.

• Applications – Set up and maintained the different functional applications.

• Hardware and Networks – Setup and maintain the hardware and networks, including the disaster recovery set up.

• Equipment Automation – Innovate to automate as many of the terminal operations

• Gate Automation – set up the automate gates working closely with the operations, engineering, commercial and project functions.

• Management Reporting – reporting as per requirements.

• Preparer and manage annual budget for IT department

• Coordinate with other departments to understand their IT requirements

• Define bench marks by understanding current practices, identifying weak process and setting up improvement plans related to the IT function

• Report departmental activities and Key Performance Indicators to the COO

• Provide overall support to IT system in DP World Maputo

• Recommend, Design and implement Network and Infrastructure enhancements

• Define and implement best practices for Disaster Recovery and Backups

• Recommend and select hardware and network related equipment, services and vendors

• Provide guidance in setting up servers, networks, applications, and backup processes

• Manage implementation of new application systems

• Identify and allocate overall responsibilities for successful rollout of the project

• Ensure proper involvement from the IT system implementers

• Ensure proper training of internal team/users on the application system

• Assist in defining and implementing maintenance plan for the system and network environment

• Develop & review systems security strategies and levels

 

Experience and Qualifications

In order to give credible support to the organisation and be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have the following experience, skills and qualifications:

• Minimum 7- 10 years’ practical experience

• Graduate/ Bachelors Degree in System Analysis/ Programming

• Experience in PC network, hardware and support systems

• Experience in port industry
