About the Role

To provide specialist personnel dedicated to positioning the Chairman as the voice and face of the DP World Brand Purpose and business vision. The central objective is to make the Chairman the go-to authority on all major issues of global trade for the most influential business media, locally and internationally and thus to drive the company’s positioning and profile as a leader and innovator in the sector.    

Key Accountabilities

Strategy. To develop and maintain a Strategy for Positioning the Chairman, including :

-identification of high priority target stakeholders

-clear statement of ‘where are we now? ‘ and ‘where do we want to get to?’

-measurable definition of what success looks like

 

Planning. To create and manage an annual Chairman’s Profile Plan, based on :

-high importance topics/messaging and proof-points

-overall calendar of activities

-measurable objectives (outputs and outcomes)

 

Implementation. To drive effective and cost-efficient Execution of the Plan, through :

-research/insights generation on key topics and ‘stories’

-internal substantiation and checking of facts (with businesses and specialists like Legal, IR etc)

-effective contacts across all relevant media channels and platforms

 

Measurement. To establish and report on a scorecard of KPIs which monitor and measure :

  • -outputs : media coverage/visibility for key messaging
  • -outcomes : impact in driving positive attitude change amongst key stakeholders
  • -overall progress in building the positioning and profile of the Chairman

     

Tactical Responsiveness. To maintain an agile rapid response capacity able to deliver :


  • speedy research/insight generation on (unforeseen) topics and issues
  • fast writing and internal substantiation and validation
  • timely media contacts and uptake


Continuous Improvement.To encourage and nurture a culture of innovation, designed to :

  • test and validate new ideas and approaches
  • explore opportunities for enhanced cost-efficiency (‘do more with less’)
  • expand and strengthen professional skill-sets and best practices

Compliance. To constantly adhere to and actively promote behaviours which reflect the Brand Purpose, while specifically:

  • maintaining the highest levels of Safety standards
  • complying with Founders Principles, Code of Conduct and Ethical policies
  • meeting all agreed standards for DP World Brand and Visual Identity

 

Experience & Qualification

In order to give credible support to the organisation and be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Tertiary level Communications qualification required
  • C suite engagement experience required
