Job Purpose

The Regional Assistant Communications Manager is responsible for communicating with all target audiences or Stakeholders in the East Africa area. He/she will be working closely with the Regional Communications Manager and the Head Office global communications function to deliver the Group’s communications strategy and will be based in Sokhna, Egypt.

The manager will be responsible for relaying DP World’s key messages, vision, mission, values and brand promise to support business objectives and promote the company in the Middle East and Africa Region as an industry thought leader.  The job holder must be an experienced communications professional, a dynamic team player with exceptional writing and critical thinking skills and strong media relationships. Responsibilities will include the MEA Region’s corporate and marketing communications execution, key message delivery, content development, digital and social media activity, crisis and issues management, events, exhibitions and internal communications within the region in coordination with business unit’s CEO’s. The role proactively and reactively ensures the company’s brand and reputation is enhanced and protected in these markets.

Key Accountabilities • Execute MEA Region’s communications strategy, targeting external audiences and employees
• Execute plans that support the objectives off business units in the Region, in the context of the Group’s messaging, communications strategy and brand purpose. 
• Maintain the development of the Region’s key messages and positioning, coordinating with the Regional Manager.
• Liaise regularly with Business Units to ensure materials reflect current positioning, key messages and latest statistics.
• Create high-quality, accurate, written content, including but not limited to: speeches, news releases, fact sheets, executive briefing materials, presentations, blogs and opinion pieces.
• Ensures that all BU in his/her perimeter have update quality corporate presentations for the entity.
• Support in the execution of the Region’s digital and social marketing programmes to support business objectives, engaging with all audiences, especially customers. Work closely with Marketing and IT colleagues at Business Units to successfully integrate communication platforms.
• Support the Region’s commercial, strategic accounts and business development teams in organizing relevant exhibitions, roadshows and sales activities.
• Support government related events and fairs coordinating with Regional Manager
• Execute communications promoting the region’s sustainability initiatives within the company’s global sustainability programme, Our World, Our Future.
• Foster relationships with governments in the Region to support trade and economic agreements.
• Distribute corporate storylines and thought leadership themes to support the region’s strategic goals.
• Develop, foster and maintain strong media relationships and help prepare executives for media interactions.
• Achieve corporate and marketing communications objectives within allocated budget
• Support management in communicating to stakeholders during crisis situations working with the Regional Communications Manager and the Head Office Global Communications Department.

Qualifications, Experience, Skills

The ideal candidate will have the following experience, skills and qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree; Minimum 7 years intermediate/senior corporate communications experience
• Experience in African Organizations to maintain communication programmes, meeting expectations and deadlines within budgetary guidelines.
• Availability to frequent travel (60% of the time) outside Egypt
• A creative and innovative professional communicator able to inspire and support communications across a global organization
• The ability and confidence to deal with some of the world’s leading media and a proven track record of placing strategic storylines; strong social/digital communications skills
• Fast and capable with a strong work ethic, attention to detail and a commitment to quality; the ability to prioritize effectively and meet tight deadlines
• Strong interpersonal skills, sensitive to working collaboratively with many different cultures and at different levels
• Self-motivated and able to work and deliver individually and remotely.
• Excellent written and verbal English and Arabic Language, a third local language is a plus.
• Self-starter who thrives under pressure, can prioritize multiple projects, take initiative and is driven to achieve results in a dynamic environment
• Willingness to roll-up sleeves and get the work done, big and small
• Knowledge of the industry a plus
