About the Role:

This position reports to General Manager - Group Accounting & Reporting and the Manager - Budget and Forecasting and the main purpose of the role is to directly be responsible for the preparation of PFZ World/DP World's Monthly, Half Yearly and Annual Financial statements.  

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Directly responsible for preparation of monthly consolidated financial statements on IFRS basis
  • Responsible for Oracle Ledger closing on a monthly basis
  • Oracle support to the head office team, various locations and closely working with Oracle team globally
  • Responsible for maintaining Chart of Accounts for the DPW Group
  • Preparation of month-end financial statement schedule
  • Maintaining accounting ledgers for various global holding companies
  • Resolve IFRS related queries from location
  • Update Group Accounting policies on an annual basis
  • Carry out Quarterly Balance Sheet reviews for various ports
  • Deal with various Auditors in resolving their queries and assisting them in timely completion of audits
  • Setting up of new companies and reorganisations in Oracle System
  • Preparation of ad-hoc report requests from Dubai World / Government Auditors
  • Preparation of IFRS based Budget including Balance Sheet, Income Statement and Cashflow
  • Responsible for reconciling IFRS reporting with Management reporting
  • Responsible for uploading financial data relating to global locations
  • Responsible for all types of financial analysis for the Group
  • Carry out Equity and Minority Interest holding percentage checks on a monthly basis
  • Maintain Intercompany balances file to ensure proper reconciliation and eliminations
  • Coordinate with all regional offices globally in respect of all accounting matters
  • Carry out Foreign Exchange Reserve reconciliation as well as upload the changes to FX rates in the Oracle System
  • Upload of historical amounts for all Equity and Investment accounts in Oracle on an annual basis
  • Assist Treasury and Tax relating to IFRS reporting and reconciliations
  • Assist Investor Relationship Team in reviewing and updating any of the financial data for their reporting
  • Responsible for preparation of any ad-hoc reports requested by Management Team
  • Responsible for carrying out ‘impairment testing' on half yearly and annual basis as per IFRS requirement
Experience and Qualifications:

In order to give credible support to the organisation and be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have the following experience, skills and qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of post qualification experience in global/multinational organisation involving global consolidation of accounting function
  • Bachelor degree in Accounting / Finance
  • Chartered Accountant / Certified Public Accountant is a must
  • Prior experience in Big 4 auditing firm is a must
  • Working knowledge of ERP Systems such as Oracle Financials is a must
  • Up-to-date knowledge in International Financial Reporting Standards
  • Ability to work within strict time-lines and under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills in English
