This position reports to Senior Vice President, Planning and Development and the main purpose of the role is to systematically manage and lead maritime infrastructure developments through feasibility, planning, design, construction and commissioning phases to meet project delivery of operationally ready container terminals to regional Business Units.  

 Key accountabilities will include:

• Be accountable for the project delivery of port infrastructure developments
• Coordination of project matters with other DP World head office business units including Business Development, Equipment and Operations, Legal, Commercial and Finance
• Close liaison and co-ordination with DP World Regional SVP's and Business Units in relation to reporting of planning, budgeting, technical compliance and delivery of projects
• Initiator and signatory to all Invoicing to construction projects under my remit
• Undertake due diligence studies on new acquisitions in co-ordination with Business Development
• Preparation of Engineering Tender documentation
• Review of Concession Agreements in co-ordination with Business Development
• Identify project requirements in coordination with end users and Business Development
• Prepare Terms of Reference defining the scope of consultancy works for consultancy tender
• Evaluation of Consultant Tender submissions
• Supervise consultant production of tender documents
• Prepare Contract documentation (Volume 1 to Construction Contracts)
• Review tender documentation prepared by consultants to comply with P&D requirements
• Provide Technical support during Permits and approvals
• Technical Support for Lender's negotiations (if applicable)
• Preparation of Tender Documentation for Contractors (in conjunction with Consultants)
• Tender Evaluations, negotiations and award of Civil works
• Project Management of Multi-discipline teams responsible for Project Executions (ie. IT, Ops, Equipment, etc)
• Administer construction contracts in directing Site Supervision staff and contractor negotiations as DPW Project Director
• Manage project delivery to budget, time and quality
• Project Management of DPW project team (composed of various DP World Depts)
• Monitor and control site based Employer's Engineers
• Hold ownership of special projects eg. Master plans, Project Management of individual Terminal Works
• Provide support to Engineering needs of Business Units (Terminals)
• Maintenance of project data on ‘livelink'

In order to give credible support to the organisation and be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have the following experience, skills and qualifications:

• First Class Bachelor Degree in Civil and Coastal Engineering
• Track record in site based Project Management of Container Terminal developments as employer representative
• Track record in site based Project Management and contract administration of Container Terminal developments as Engineer's Representative
• Track record of working in and directing project teams
• Track record of producing and administering construction contracts
• Development of cost control and reporting
• Project Management
• Contract administration
• Cost Control and reporting
• Technical knowledge of container terminal construction and operations
• Documentation and reporting
• Decision making including pre-requisite data collection and analysis
• Knowledge of Contractor/ Consultant pool
• Industrial diving inspection
