In 2008, DP World handled more than 46.8 million TEU (twenty-foot equivalent container units) across its portfolio from the Americas to Asia - an increase of 8% on 2007. With a pipeline of expansion and development projects in key growth markets, including India, China and the Middle East, capacity is expected to rise to around 95 million TEU over the next ten years.

Key accountabilities include:

• Liaise effectively with the business regarding outages, support queries, maintenance and ad hoc queries
• Manage and co-ordinate the application of patches
• Provide ongoing maintenance and support to all infrastructure and business applications as directed
• Maintain system backups and currency of procedures
• Maintain site documentation
• Coordinate IT procurement with the business
• Responsibility for the day-to-day support and maintenance of the local computer room
• Assist in site-based and National IT Projects as required
• Ensure compliance with policies, processes, standards and security
• Maintain vehicle communication equipment (Sattel and Teklogix)

• Tertiary qualifications in an IT related discipline
• Minimum 2-3 years experience in Windows Technologies
• MS Exchange 5.5 or above
• Providing desktop support in an enterprise environment
• Working with Network protocols and configuration
• Troubleshooting Desktop hardware and software problems
• Configuring and managing network Cisco switches is desirable
• Working in a 24x7 environment with critical business applications
• Experience in general Wintel server management
