About the Role:
DP World Brisbane at the Fisherman Islands Container Terminal is seeking a Mechanical Tradesperson - Variable Salaried Employee responsible for the planned and breakdown maintenance of fixed and mobile equipment. The successful applicant must demonstrate a commitment to a high standard of workmanship and safe work practices. This role also requires availability/flexibility to work in a 24/7 operations including weekends.
Key accountabilities will include:
- Undertake mechanical repairs to a required standard
- Conduct regular planned maintenance
- Undertake fabrication refurbishment and mechanical maintenance as required
- Complete job reporting in an accurate and timely manner
- Liaise with and assist contractors and suppliers where appropriate
- Ensure compliance with safe work practices at all times
Experience and Qualifications:
In order to give credible support to the organisation and be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have the following experience, skills and qualification:
Qualifications
- Successful completion of apprenticeship in an appropriate trade qualification - Mechanical Fitter, diesel mechanic
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a workshop and/or industrial environment
- Understanding of equipment functionality and service requirements
- Understanding of manufacturers specifications
- Ability to work at heights
- Fitness level applicable to DP World Standard
