What are your main responsibilities?
Communications covers such a broad spectrum, but the priority in my department is developing structured and strategic approaches to corporate communications within the region. We handle media enquiries from all over Europe, maintain media relations and proactively identify opportunities to raise DP World's regional profile. I also lead the Global Intranet Team, which looks at ways to optimise use of the Internet and corporate Intranet to convey messaging internally, as well as externally.
What do you enjoy most about work?
No two days are the same! DP World is a growing, dynamic, global company and that attracts media attention, all of which makes for interesting engagement with journalists. I believe in the fundamental value of effective corporate communications, and I like being able to see the impact of one's work. I also enjoy very much enjoy the creative side to corporate communications – coming up with new and more effective ways of getting the company's message across.
