What are your main responsibilities?
I am responsible for preparing and filing the corporation tax returns for DP World companies in the UK. I assist with tax provisioning in the annual and half-year reports; field HM Revenue & Customs' enquiries regarding group tax payments, prepare and submit the monthly VAT returns and process with tax-related queries from other departments.
What do you enjoy most about work?
I like the fact that this is a learning job. The fact that I have to deal with so many different kinds of companies, from property developers, to UK ports and management companies means that I have to be up to date with all relevant developments in tax legislation. The development of massive projects such as London Gateway are also fascinating in terms of the tax challenges they present.
