What are your main responsibilities?
I manage civil engineering assets and projects. In this context I define project scope, specify standards and requirements for work, prepare plans and budgets for maintenance and development projects and prepare and negotiate contracts with consultants and contractors.
What do you enjoy most about work?
The variety of my work is interesting and stimulating. Typically, my day involves a lot of interaction with colleagues, consultants and Port Corporations on project issues, reviewing reports to ensure that study objectives have been met and that study assumptions are realistic--this is critically important as initial assumptions affect outcomes! I review drawings, specifications and lead regular inspections of our terminals.
