About the Role The job holder is responsible in managing the electrical workshop and arrange efficient execution of planned and unplanned maintenance of all the electrical and electronic equipment in a safe and efficient manner in compliance with all applicable industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
    • To review PMS, standard safety practices of works, maintenance activities and etc. and to provide recommendations for the changes and improvements whenever required. 
    • To manage a team of electricians effectively and coordinate all works as per requirements of the technical department.
    • To continually monitor and supervise maintenance of all electrical and electronic equipment of the vessels and at the workshop.
    • To foster in house expertise to undertake as much as practical all repair and maintenance works solely by P&O Maritime technical team.
    • In coordination with the Technical Superintendents, Workshop Superintendent and Port Engineers, to plan and prioritize all electric/electronic maintenance activities ensuring minimum down time.
    • Updating of technical work list, daily work done reports and action tracker.
    • To prepare dry docking lists of electrical/electronic related works and assist in preparation of Capex and Budget proposals.
    • To liaise with Technical Superintendents for coordination and execution of DD works related to his area of responsibility.
    • To lead and supervise electrical and electronic equipment upgrade, modification, retrofit, major repairs.
    • To coordinate all involved parties required for the successful completion of major critical / intervention including external contractors, service providers, class and flag authorities, surveyors, etc…
    • To prepare detailed scopes of works, select and monitor external contractors’ works whenever required.
    • Maintain log books, soft and hard records and paper work as directed by line manager.
    • Arrange prompt response to any reported breakdowns on vessel.
    • Monitor inventory control of spares and stores.
    • Approve level 1 approval in AMOS, for procurement actions of electrical spares and services.
    • Assist procurement department with purchasing of spares and services related to his area of responsibility.
    • Travel as per company needs to vessels for troubleshooting, repairs as per technical department requirement
    • Ensure critical electrical/electronic spares are available in stores O/B & in P&O Stores
    • Assist Technical team in mobilizations and modifications etc (spares)
    • To provide an in house general trainings/instructions on equipment usage/monitoring and etc. for the teams whenever required.
    • To provide recommendations for trainings activities for the technical staff, including vessel engineers and to participate in the training activities of the company whenever required.
Qualifications and Competencies
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering with experience/specialization in Marine automation systems
  • Computer literate, sound knowledge in MS Office and CAD applications
  • Good Knowledge and understanding of English language both written and verbal.
  • Excellent verbal and written reporting skills.
  • Seagoing experience in ETO role is an advantage.
