  • To advise and support the Regional CEO/MD and the Americas Regional Office to lead cultural and behavioural change in the area of health, safety, security and the environment.  The role also assists in the development of required policies and provides advice and assistance to the regional business unit terminal general managers and senior managers. By:

  • Refining the Global SS&E strategy taking into account regional requirements for implementation;
  • Identification and control of regional high risk activities and processes;
  • Provide high level sign off for CIR investigations;
  • Development and implementation of the regional SS&E behavioral change program;
  • Mentoring and support of the terminal SS&E staff;
  • Mentoring of the regional senior management in the leadership of SS&E;
  • Trending of sites performance to identify performance patterns and development of regional improvement action plans or projects;
  • Verifying sites compliance against the minimum global requirements;
  • Verifying all regionally submitted data and quality checking for accuracy of results;
  • Identifying best practice in SS&E industry and evaluating potential implementation of opportunities;
  • Providing timely regional input to shape and evolve the global strategy;
  • Mentor and guide business unit SS&E Mangers;
  • Co-ordinate regional emergency management abilities.
  • Implement and manage Intelex Quality Management system (regional documentation control, training management, incident management, workplace observations, S&E meetings, Audits and inspections management, action management).
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships at all levels within the organization and lead / mentor workgroups and individuals;
  • Excellent influencing skills demonstrated through verbal and written communication and
  • Excellent change management skills.
  • Minimum 5-7 years’ practical experience as an S&E manager;
  • Minimum5years’experienceworkinginheavyindustrial environments;
  • Experience in leading critical incident investigations including fatalities,
  • Experience inthe development and management of corrective action plans and projects,
  • Experience in liaising with government, regulatory, industry and labour organizations,
  • Formal HSE qualification to Diploma / Degree level for example: NEBOSH International Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety and or NEBOSH Diploma in Environmental Management;
