About the Role

DP World Berbera is recruiting an Organisation Development and Sustainability Officer reporting to the Human Resources Manager for:

  • Implementation and integration of the DP World sustainability approach in the Business Unit;
  • Implementation of Human resources programs, processes, and frameworks to ensure that DP World BerBera has the capability to meet its current and future business goals;

 

 
Key Accountabilities

Sustainability responsibilities:

  • Business Unit sustainability focal point 

  • Organise and monitor all Global activities/initiatives in the Business Units

  • Develop and implement initiatives around Women Empowerment and Ocean Protection

  • Develop the Sustainability budget – this includes working closely with line manager, CEO and CFO.

  • Create a Sustainability Committee to review and agreed for all the community projects

  • Organise every month with the Finance team a session to review the expenditures and make a reconciliation

  • Monitor and manage the Sustainability budget

  • Ensure effective communication methods are in place to communicate Community activities in coordination with the Regional Communication

  • Research and benchmark DP World Berbera against competitors and other business in Somaliland

  • Recommend appropriate action to ensure a competitive lead for DP World Berbera and be responsible for implementing required actions.

  • Managing community investment and engagement

  • Implement Business Unit sustainability approach and commitments in collaboration with HR, HSE, Procurement and Commercial

  • Implement and communicate Our World, Our Future

  • Implement and monitor sustainability KPIs

  • Input data to the sustainability system

  • Manage, Organise and deliver Global Education Programme in Berbera

  • Report to Line Manager and CEO on BU sustainability progress

  • Manage sustainability stakeholder engagement process

  • Ensure Grant agreement, Due diligence and risk assessments are developed for each community activities

 

OD Responsibilities:

  • implement and control the recruitment process, ensuring DP World BerBera is able to access and attract Talents as per DP World policies & procedures

  • Proactively arrange and coordinate training programs as per the approved training plan

  • Contribute as a member of the people department team to the overall development of the function to ensure optimum support of business plans and goals

  • Provide general HR support across the business unit, as required, to ensure the HR Function supports business initiatives at minimum fixed cost levels

Qualifications, Experience and Skills
  1. Post Graduate in in relevant field, for example social workers, sustainability, public administration

  2. At least 3 years’ experience in CSR and sustainability domain

  3. 1-3 years of experience in HR specially recruitment and/or training

  4. Highly responsible, self-motivated individual, capable of performing effectively under pressure

  5. True passion for corporate responsibility and making a difference – necessary to stay in tune with stakeholder viewpoints

  6. Ability to communicate financial viability and return on investment to enable change

  7. Ability to negotiate, influence and at times management team and colleague

  8. Ability to influence and negotiate at all levels within an organisation.

  9. Professional language in English 

  10. Proficient computer skills.
