About the Role  

DP World Middle East & Africa Region is recruiting a Finance Officer reporting to the  Finance & Corporate Governance Manager

The Regional Office Finance Department has a Regional responsibility particularly with respect to investment review, strategic portfolio management, project financing and corporate compliance.  There is a focus on the Africa and Middle East region for the direct implementation of new project investments. 

The focus of this role is to assist the Finance Manager for the Finance and Governance responsibilities of MEA region coordinating with Head Office and Business units.

Key Accountabilities
  • Ensure prompt monthly reports, accounts, and regular coordination with Business Units and Group Finance on all monthly reporting and accounting matters

  • Support Head Office Finance on accounting, consolidation and reporting related to Middle East and Africa region business units

  • Provide various periodic reports and data as required by Regional Operations, Engineering, Sustainability, HO Finance, Treasury, etc.

  • Supporting Regional Office accounts, preparation of RO budget and Monthly management report to HO

  • Review and ensure timely delivery of various reports to lenders by the business units

  • Capex - evaluate the proposals, budget, analyse and control

  • Support and co-ordinate with the BUs and HO departments in preparation of the budget, review, regional consolidation and timely submission to HO

  • Bring out timely and effective MIS reports showing profitability, budgetary control

  • Ensure adequate internal control in all matters and compliance with DP World policies and procedures including risk management and corporate compliance

  • Management of Incorporation Documents on Blueprint including upload of statutory documents, constitutional documents, Minutes, share certificates and all other documentation required as per DP World Corporate Governance handbook and Mandatory Fields Guideline

  • Support timely procurement and payments complying with Company Policy & Procedures on purchase matters

  • Support revenue enhancement and cost control initiatives in the Business units

  • Support Business Units in Accounting, Reporting, Finance systems, processes and controls

  • Ensure internal customer satisfaction and coordination between BU, RO and HO Finance functions

  • Monitor Debtors, cash flows of Regional office and business units and advise remedial action where required

  • Liaise with business units and resolve issues relating to internal audit, risk and compliance.

  • Provide support in commercial decisions like pricing, incentive, discounts etc.

  • Support Oracle Fusion implementation in the region

  • Performs other related duties as assigned related to the job function

  • Ensuring compliance with DP World policies and procedures

  • Any other tasks assigned by the line manager.



  • CA/CPA

Experience and skills
  • 5 to 8 years’ experience, of which 3 years’ experience preferably in Ports and Logistics
  • Knowledge in setting up Finance systems, processes and controls, Reporting, Budgeting, Accounting and Audit

  • Knowledge in ERP systems

  • Arabic and French knowledge, though not necessary for the job, will be an added advantage
  • Administration and analytical skills
  • Strong work ethic, reliable, discreet and able to retain confidential information

  • Optimistic nature and strong team player

  • Excellent organisational skills,  multi-tasker, able to remain calm under pressure

  • Brand ambassador for the department and DP World middle east Africa Region

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
