Container handling is the company’s core business and generates more than three quarters of its revenue. About the Role Responsible for the effective and efficient overall operation of Production and Operations division activities to      achieve division KSF/KPIs thereby supporting the business plan and long term strategic vision of the organization.

Key Accountabilities Policies, Processes & Procedures:
• Direct the development and oversee the implementation of DDW functional policies, systems, processes, procedures and controls so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service to customers in a consistent manner. 

Budget and Financial Performance:
• Direct the preparation and consolidation of the DDW production and operations departmental budgets and monitor financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenues, areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalised upon.

Operational (job specific):
• Direct the production and operations of DDW to meet business goals and while overseeing the day-to-day administrative functions of the business.
• Responsible for leading the department in the implementation and supervision of vessels’ maintenance projects and execution of new shipbuilding operations. 
Direct the department in yard operations, marine operations, and manage the execution of the department to major conversion & refit projects, ensuring optimization of manpower and equipment. 
Cooperating with Commercial department for providing necessary input in order to explore business opportunities, execute feasibility studies, and involve in finalizing contracts wherever applicable.  
Lead the company to constant incremental improvement while overseeing designing and implementing business operations strategies.
• Encourage & motivate the team in the Production & Operations departments to achieve targets, KSF and KPIs.
• Empower the production and operational team with the leadership and resources they need to successfully complete operations initiatives.
• Lead the development and preparation of short and long-range plans based upon broad organization goals and objectives.  Recommend their adoption to the managing Director & CEO – MSD.
• Liaise with business leadership executives to accomplish short and long-term operational goals
• Liaise with DDW CEO with matters related to production and operations ensuring optimum use of yard resources, equipment and manpower.
• Oversee the work of key projects teams and department/divisional heads and set performance and growth goals and motivate staff to meet organizational goals.
• Ensure coordination with Finance department to anticipate finance projections and contribute to control company costs.
• Recommend and manage the DDW initiatives that will result in Business expansion (investments, corporate alliances, acquisitions etc.).

Leadership:
• Manages the effective achievement of Production & Operations divisional objectives through the leadership of the production & operations division. Managing performance, developing and motivating staff in order to maximise subordinate and divisional performance.


Change Management:
• Leads and directs the management of change through continuous improvement of divisional systems, processes and practices taking into account ‘international best practice’, changes in international standards and changes in the business environment which demand proactive action plans.

Reporting:
• Ensures that all the divisional reports of DDW complete set objectives timely, accurately and meet overall objectives as per the company policies and standards.

Safety, Quality & Environment:
• Ensures compliance to all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across the department in order to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance and a responsible environmental attitude.
• Ensure employees are aware and follow the information Security Rules and data security measures in order to protect the company information / intellectual properties.

Related Assignments:
• Performs other related duties or assignments as required in order to ensure the continuous operations of the division.
Qualifications & Experience Language skills:
• Fluent in English
• Additional languages are added advantage
