Role description

Systems Business Analyst - IFS

We have a great opportunity for someone with in depth knowledge of IFS to come and work with our expanding team within our IT department.

The purpose of this role is to be a liaison among stakeholders in order to understand the structure, policies, and operations of the LGPL organization, and to recommend and implement system solutions that enable the LGPL organization to achieve its goals.

Key responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

•      To work closely with all London Gateway departments translating business requirements into operational system solutions.

•      The interpretation and analysis of business rules and requirements for technical systems;

•      To design, test and implement required systems functionally most suited to defensive, Portable and adaptable code enabling the terminal to operate according the operational performance.

•      Maintaining the Business Process Model and all its scenarios (Daily Tasks);

•      Based on the Business Process Scenario’s, build the relevant test bed.

•      Ensure extensive system testing for Semantic and Syntactic logic errors

•      prior to production;

•      Assisting in setting up operational procedures and training manuals.

•      To provide training to supervisors and key users to play an important role during testing and commissioning;

•      To provide training to the first line support staff and operations users.

•      Minimize customisation for systems during the Orientation and Analysis sessions with system suppliers.

•      Ensure accuracy of any Development, Training Documentation

•      IFS -  Batch Queue administration, Print Server Setup and Administration, Bug Fixing, Data Migration, Security and Profile Administration. IFS Connect/Messaging Setup. Custom Events/RMB Setup. IFS Release Organisation and Deployment.

Qualifications, Skills, experience

Qualifications, skills and Experience Required:

  • Computer science degree or other relevant degree within the IT function – BA/BS;

  • Development knowledge with an understanding and experience of .net applications and PL/SQL programming;

  • Proven relevant and practical experience working with the IFS system including project implementation of the IFS system in all IFS modules – Finance and Preventative Maintenance would be advantageous;

  • Writing detailed requirement and functional specifications for complex business applications;

  • Development and Maintenance of Crystal Reports;

  • Test Programs for Semantic and Syntactic logic errors;

  • Develop .Net Applications to expand the functionality of the IFS Core system to other areas of the business;

  • Develop and Maintain BI Tools (Qlikview) to enable the users to extract critical information in an informative and presentable manner;

  • Create and maintain auditable processes for any IFS related Changes;

  • Liaise and manage any external contractors or support personnel that are involved in enhancements or changes to the IFS core systems;

  • User Administration / Securities, document system changes, Process flows and enhancements;

  • Monitoring database performance for both Oracle and IFS. Technical Support - Second point of contact for any Oracle Database issues;

  • .Net application development experience;

  • PL/SQL Development experience and optimization;

  • Crystal Reports Development, Qlikview Server & Development Knowledge and skills;

  • Experience with Business Process Modeling;

  • Ability to take on any operational requirements, turn them into business processes;

  • Be able to use initiative and act independently;

  • Possess understanding in the areas of application customisation, database and system design, programming paradigms and object orientated coding.
