DP World operates deep sea marine terminals within the Europe and Russia Region; London Gateway, Tarragona, Antwerp, Southampton, Fos, Constanta, Le Havre as well as a concession in Cyprus.  In addition to development projects at; Rotterdam and Yarimca.  We also operate 3 inland/intermodal businesses in Germany

This role exists in the European Head Office located in London. This office is where the SVP and Managing Director for the Region sits alongside regional departments including Finance, Business development, Commercial, HR, IT and Legal. We also have several global departments based in London including Pensions, Internal Audit, Insurance and Heritage. 



We are looking for a new member to join our professional European Finance team to maintain the company’s bookkeeping to a high standard, perform essential financial duties for members of the Finance Team ensuring processes are managed in a smooth, effective and efficient way.  You will need to provide timely, accurate quality information to the Finance Team and others departments.  It will be your responsibility to ensure that financial information is processed on a timely basis, in accordance with Company’s policies and procedures and meets the requirements for management and statutory reporting.

You must have solid experience in the accounts payable and receivable functions together with exceptional analytical and numerical skills and a proficient level of accounting expertise and attention to details and excellent numeracy and IT skills (particularly Excel)

We are looking for someone with high levels of attention to details and excellent numeracy and IT skills.  You should have the Initiative to pick matters and procedures up quickly and sound communication skills to deal with people who have different levels of financial understanding together with excellent problem solving skills.

An aptitude to manage own work load and meet sometimes some tight deadlines is essential as well as the ability to cope with pressure in a sometimes challenging and changing environment.

Vacancy Information


You will be undertaking a variety of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable duties, an example of which are listed here:-

  • Liaising with internal and external contacts to resolve invoice queries in a timely manner;
  • Managing trading accounts between POSNCO and other business units and external parties;
  • Act as the primary point of contact for day-to-day issues in respect of payments and cash management;
  • Process electronic bank transfers ensuring the requests are properly authorised and supporting documentation is scanned and attached to the ledger entry;
  • Perform monthly bank accounts reconciliation, investigate and resolve discrepancies;
  • Responsible for maintaining Fixed Assets Register, updating it on a monthly basis with transactions (purchases, disposals, etc.), calculating and posting depreciation charge;
  • Responsible for filing of financial documentation, ensure the processed invoices and journals are sent to the offsite archive and are kept as prescribed by the document retention rules;
  • Provide support for project work and ad-hoc queries;

You must have a good academic record with AAT or similar accreditation.
