About the Role

This position is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and day-to-day management of DP World Group HSE standards, systems, governance and risk reduction programs to ensure compliance with the DP World’s philosophy of zero harm to our people and the environment.

The position of Group HSE Officer will support the Group HSE Team in the delivery of strategic Group Level HSE projects, global communication strategies and the Group HSE Management system.

The individual will be expected to be proactive, demonstrate high standards regarding attention to detail of HSE policies and procedures and must be capable of setting priorities to support the Group HSE team execute key deliverables to achieve objectives. 

Key Accountabilities
  • Provide input and support the development of strategic directions for HSE within DP World.
  • Coordinate the process of data collection, collation and report generation to meet systematic and ad hoc information requirement i.e. Board, MSER and Annual reports that contribute in making strategic decisions.
  • Support the development of documents which include HSE Standards, Protocols, Guidelines, programs and initiatives that give effect to continuous improvement of HSE policies and strategies.

Specific Responsibilities:

Project Management:

  • Manage project schedules, reporting and input into HSE Projects to ensure objectives and goals are achieved on time.
  • Maintain and monitor project plans and project schedules.
  • Organise, attend and participate in project and stakeholder meetings.
  • Document and follow up on actions and decisions from meetings.
  • Ensure documentation is maintained for each project.

Communication:

  • Design tools and campaigns to ensure key HSE messages are effectively communicated to stakeholders throughout the DP World Group.
  • Develop communication tools and packages.
  • Implement communication plans.
  • Distribute HSE information such as GHSE Bulletins, HSE Management System documentation, Reports and project updates.

Group HSE Management System:

  • Support the development and continuous improvement of all aspects of the Group HSE management system to ensure content is current and easily accessible.
  • Ensure correct numbering and identification of documents within the Group HSE Management System.
  • Perform quality and compliance checks on HSE Management System and Project documentation.
  • Manage filing and organisation of HSE documents and records.
  • Coordinate Group HSE Management system documentation modification, issuance and distribution.
  • Maintain the Group HSE Management System register.

Administrative Support / Document Design and Control:

  • Review, edit and format technical documentation and maintain the Group HSE folder structure to ensure Group HSE records accessible and secure.
  • Create and format templates to support the implementation of Group HSE Projects.
  • Assist in the compilation and formatting of monthly and Executive / Board reports.
  • Manage folder structure and filing of electronic records.
  • Prepare presentation materials.
  • Format MS Word documents, PowerPoint presentations, and Excel spreadsheets.
  • Store and maintain documents on the Group HSE department SharePoint site.
  • Review documents and deliverables for spelling, grammar and consistency.

General:

  • Act as an ambassador for DP World at all times when working; promoting and demonstrating positive behaviours in harmony with DP World’s values and culture; ensuring the highest level of safety is applied in all activities; understanding and following DP World’s Code of Conduct and Ethics policies.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Proven work experience as a Project Co-ordinator, HSE Co-ordinator, Senior Document Controller or similar role within a Global organisation.
  • Bachelor level education or equivalent preferred.
  • HSE management background preferred.
  • Familiarity with Project Management and Corporate functions.
  • In-depth understanding of entire MS Office suite and its application.
  • Excellent typing and editing skills.
  • Data organisation skills.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Must be able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Experience exercising discretion and confidentiality with sensitive company information.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with an ability to think proactively and prioritize work.
