About the Role

Drive the strategy and delivery of broad organization development and talent programs, initiatives including organization design; strategic organization planning and effectiveness; review and leading performance management; productivity enhancement and continuous improvements by providing specialist advice as part of the People Department that will enable the achievement of DP World business goals.

The role requires taking important decisions with business relevance or supporting the business in making decisions understanding broader cross functional implications.


Key Accountabilities
  • Leads processes for organizational structure design with the business units across Europe.  
    • Reviews and maintains the rules for the span of control and layers in different business units.
    • A strategic HR Business partner to the HQ business leaders with all generalist HR matters.
    • Conducts regular reviews of the organizational structure and recommends changes to make the organisation more efficient.
    • Oversees the development and maintenance of organisation design/creation, by understanding the business’ operations and best practice.
    • Responsible for talent assessment, talent development , succession planning and coaching for leadership-level employees, as well as other large scale talent driven strategies and initiatives that impact the whole business or business unit.
  • First point of contact for leading the due diligence for any new M&A and ensuring a clear handover to the respective BU.

  • Develops and manages the implementation of manpower planning process. Organises, supervises and controls the overall manpower plan of the company and organization charts, in collaboration with related stakeholders.
    • Leads continuous improvements while building the Organization Design practices and policies, and strategies within the overall guidelines of Performance & talent development.
    • Manages and leads people review process process across Europe, by implementing a clear operating rhythm and regular review of customers’ needs, analysing, and recommending necessary changes.

  • Provides support to the functions and wider team in the areas of people metrics and develops actions plans accordingly.
    • Supports People leadership to identify business challenges and use data analysis to help influence changes to the people strategy and programs to be implemented.
    • Serves as the domain expert for organization and talent and provides subject matter expert recommendations and solutions to improve productivity, retention and attraction of employees based on external and internal factors, best practices and innovative solutions.  

  • Leads and drives Performance Management of DP World and identifies opportunities for performance improvements aligned to global strategy
    • Drives and manages the development and implementation of DP World’s performance management systems.
    • Reviews organizational goals and strategy to relate with preferred organizational outcomes in terms of service quality, cost or timelines and insures alignment in the performance management.
    • Provides ongoing support to ensure that performance management systems are being used to effectively manage operations work processes and individual performances and to identify and manage operational risks.
    • Analyses and reports on performance management results and measurements and provide recommendation for process improvements and programmes initiatives.

  • Utilises the outmost of HR Technology and System to achieve the highest level of accuracy and customer satisfaction, by automation of key Organisation Design and Manpower Planning areas such as manpower planning, organisation design, job descriptions, organisation changes
  • Manages the preparation and submission of related Management Reports (regular/ad-hoc), including organisation charts, manpower summaries, movement, analysis, demographics, for all stakeholders
  • Leads and co-ordinates the EWC for the region ensuring it adds value through continuous reviews and forward thinking to ensure we remain relevant in the information shared.  
  • Leads initiative programmes that will enhance the productivity of DP World across all functions at a global level.
  • Liaises with key departments to deliver OT&D strategy including some of the below:
    • D&I strategy with a focus on female development.
    • Talent and development of existing employees.
    • Driving connection with schools and universities to develop the pipeline.
    • Review of existing policies and procedures in line with legislation and our EVP.
    • Lead simplification of HR processes.
    • Lead the Gender Pay Gap process and submission.
    • Laser focus on how we drive interest in STEM within Europe.

  • Responsible for the management and leadership of an engaged team, promoting collaboration and ensuring that each is developed and evaluated against goals and objectives which are aligned, specific, measurable, attainable yet challenging, realistic and time bound.

  • Act as an ambassador for DP World at all times when working; promoting and demonstrating positive behaviours in harmony with DP World’s values and culture; ensuring the highest level of safety is applied in all activities; understanding and following DP World’s Code of Conduct and Ethics policies
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications and Experience
In order to give credible support to the organisation and be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably with a Business, Human Resources or related background.
  • A minimum of 8 years of organisation design and workforce planning experience at a similar level in a multinational company.
  • Process improvement skills like six sigma/ lean are highly desirable.
  • Proven experience designing and successfully implementing complex and multijurisdictional job human capital programmes.
  • Understanding of Container Terminal business process will be a distinct advantage.
  • Consultancy experience is preferred.
  • Practical and ‘hands on’ experience successfully implementing specific human capital productivity programmes.
  • Excellent computer skills including advance use of MS Excel.
  • Very strong analytical skills.
  • High attention to details and ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work under pressure and with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to work with customers and senior management.
  • Effective business communication skills and fluency in written & spoken English.
  • Strong financial and business acumen.
  • Proven track record of personal credibility both technical expertise and high ethical practice.
  • Decisive thinker with the ability to analyse and understand information using insights to effectively make informed decisions.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively, consultatively and inclusively with a range of people.
