About the Role

We are looking for a vendor manager to lead the process of exploring the market and selection, deciding which to offers with optimal cost and quality for the company. This leader will own a P&L and be responsible for setting the strategic direction. S/he serves as a primary advocate for our customer and must understand the industry landscape and where the opportunities are for DP World within that landscape. 

The Senior Manager will partner with leaders within the organizations, areas such as terminals, logistics, Marketing, and Finance to deliver on their goals.


Key Accountabilities
  • Manage a P&L, including planning, forecasting and driving growth for categories, and possessing a complete understanding of internal and external variables that impact the business.
  • Setting the goals and strategic direction for their vendors and initiatives, ensuring alignment with broader business goals.
  • Identifying industry trends and developing innovative marketing and merchandising initiatives to support growth.
  • Generating and implementing big ideas to drive business improvement, innovation, and scale within their categories and across the business as a whole.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams that support business needs, including operations, marketing, finance, to ensure processes are in place for flawless execution.
  • Drive negotiations with external vendors and represent DP World when meeting with a multitude of external stakeholders.
  • Provide scalable solutions for continued growth.
  • Set project requirements and deliver results.


Qualifications and Experience

In order to give credible support to the organisation and be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have the following:

Basic Qualifications

  • MBA
  • Minimum 7 years of experience
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Experience managing teams
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • P&L responsibility and experience delivering strong financial results
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Team oriented with strong written and oral communication skills, and able to effectively manage multiple projects with a high degree of accuracy and meet demanding timelines
  • Ability to work independently, strong attention to detail, and a passion for driving process improvement.
  • Experience presenting to Senior Management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in Supply Chain Management or Vendor Management

The ideal candidate is a thought leader on new initiatives and has strong business judgment, with a track record of developing teams and overall vendor relationship management. Proven analytical thinking, project management skills, attention to detail, and exceptional organizational skills are musts. The right candidate stays on top of industry trends and is able to execute at both a tactical and strategic level. S/he will be responsible for building direct relationships with executives at key suppliers, growing selection, negotiating costs, developing marketing programs that drive growth, and identifying new business opportunities. The person must be a self-starter and effective communicator with strong leadership and managerial skills (must have experience leading multi-layer organizations).
